Sekhukhune This Week
We have spoken a great deal about our vision, ambitions
and hopes to satisfy the one-million odd community of Greater
Sekhukhune.
Our conversations ranged from long and short term plans, and we are
always at pains explaining that no matter what adversity glares at us we
will trudge forward to ensure our people get services.
We will always emphasise that the challenges before us are huge, yet
they are not insurmountable.
It is however encouraging that our customers – the residents of Greater
Sekhukhune District – think that we are doing a good job as far as
providing services is concerned.
A research conducted by the University of South Africa’s (UNISA) Bureau
of Market Research rates our performance as being good.
UNISA independently spoke to our residents to ascertain how satisfied
they were with service delivery in our five local municipalities. The
outcome was an emphatic ‘GOOD.’
This is a major boost to our confidence, more so because these plaudits
come directly from the people we serve.
Lastly, GSDM is also pleased with the attendance at the Integrated
Development Programme (IDP) consultation meetings this week.
Our communities converged at five venues to influence the allocation of
budgets for various projects.
The IDP consultation process was a resounding success. The proposed
budget is R649, 318, 342.
We have no qualms that at the end of the whole process, our communities
would have had their say.
Many thanks.
