A message from the Executive Mayor - Site Launch
Warm welcome to Greater Sekhukhune District Municipality with its
thriving economy and tranquil socio-political environment. Our
people are the greatest assets at the disposal of our institution.
Their ever smiling faces and jovial mood is a clear manifestation of
the pride and joy they derive from the reinstatement of human
dignity and enjoyment of the hard won freedom. They exude all
round confidence as they taste and persistently continue to spawn
the sweet and fecund fruits of democracy. Our cultural heritage
bequeathed to us by our progenitors is tapped to develop the
potential of eco-tourism industry of the District.
The Mineral deposits buried underneath our fertile soil are the
necessary pre-requisites and harbinger for the long awaited economic
boom ever emblazoned on the sub-conscience of our communal psyche.
The development of Agriculture as our economic bedrock is our
highest priority as expressed in the recent budgetary allocations.
As a Water Authority, we also strive for affordable and sustainable
service delivery as encapsulated in our mission and vision
statement. Our collective journey into the brave hazy future
demands of us to circumvent all obstacles and spare neither effort
nor energy in raising the quality and standard of life of our people
to better levels. As we continue in our stoical determination to
unfold government programmes to create a just and humane social
order, we invite all our people to be active participants and not
passive spectators in this righteous and collective endeavor. May
