CLLR MOGOBO DAVID MAGABE,
EXECUTIVE MAYOR OF
SEKHUKHUNE DISTRICT MUNICIPALITY
Mogobo David Magabe was born on the 11th of April 1964 at Ga-Mokgotho village in the Penge mining area of Greater Tubatse Local Municipality.
Before he was sworn-in as the Executive Mayor of Greater Sekhukhune District Municipality on the 05th of March 2009, Mogobo David Magabe was already holding the strategic centre in Sekhukhune as the regional chairperson of African National Congress (ANC) Sekhukhune Region since November 2008.
He has been a member of ANC's Limpopo Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) from 2002 to date. Between 1991 to 1996 he was elected Branch Secretary of ANC Youth League Penge Branch Secretary 1991 until the end of 1996 when he was elected into the ANC Youth League Provincial Executive Committee. In the same year he was elected to the Executive Committee of the ANC Sekhukhune Region.
Affectionately known as “Comrade Shoes” he is a well revered negotiator with the great skill of pulling opposing views and he is a driving force behind resolving all deep seated conflicts . His flair was seen when he took an instrumental role in the negotiations of Eastern Tubatse/ Ohrighstad Transitional Local Council (TLC) in 1995 and served as a member of TLC.
His service to the ANC Regional Executive Committee from 2002 to date contributed to the stability and unity that characterized the body-politic of Sekhukhune region.
