The Department of Planning and Economic Development aims to facilitate integrated spatial planning, sustainable land-use management and stimulation of economic development, through;
- Exploitation of existing economic potential of the District
- Provision of a framework for sustainable land-use management
- Development of sustainable and integrated spatial planning
- Facilitation of land reform programmes implementation
- Fostering a culture of integrated development planning
The Department consists of three divisions;
